Projects with an impact

Participation workshop

In the participation workshop, we develop practical ideas together to strengthen and promote participation in Vienna.

European Capital of Democracy

As the European Capital of Democracy 2024/25, Vienna demonstrates how participatory democracy can be implemented successfully at city level.

Viennese Democracy Strategy

The Viennese Democracy Strategy aims to give all Viennese an active role in shaping their city.

The Vienna Climate Team

The Vienna Climate Team develops ideas submitted by citizens into projects and implements them together with the City Administration.

With the Office for Participation and Empowerment, we aim to strengthen democracy in Vienna and give more people the opportunity to actively shape their environment. We especially want to give a voice to those who do not have large interest groups on their side. I am convinced that social cohesion in our city will grow the more people can contribute.
